GASGAS-mounted enduro racer Korey McMahon returned to the top step of the Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) podium over the weekend when he won the challenging seventh round of the series in the E1 category at Queensland Moto Park.
Aboard the GASGAS EC 250F in rounds seven and eight of the 2024 season, McMahon made short work of the dry, technical special tests to keep his rivals at bay and finish the day’s racing with an advantage of more than 20 seconds.
Sunday saw the riders again attack a variety of terrains for the second day of enduro competition. McMahon made a charge through the punishing closing stages and closed the gap on the leader, eventually claiming a P2 result in E1.
Korey McMahon:“It was a big weekend of riding and we spent more than nine hours on the bike over the two days. Yesterday was an awesome day, and it was great to take my second-round class win for the year. I was really consistent and fast all day, and it felt like everything clicked. Today got off to a rough start, but I was able to get back to within a couple of seconds of the leader. And then I had a couple of crashes late in the day, so it was a bit frustrating, but it’s good to know the speed’s there.”
