Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney are amped to announce that 20 lucky aspiring riders will have the chance to compete for the first time in the event’s history, in the KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC).
The KJSC offers the future superstars of Supercross the opportunity to ride in front of a packed-out stadium, with the competition open to children aged seven and eight years old only, and that have at least one year of competition experience.
Split over both nights, 10 junior riders each night will be treated to a full factory ride, like nothing ever offered before in Australia.
Monster Energy AUS-X Open Sydney Director and Co-Founder Adam Bailey says that he’s extremely excited about having the very first KTM Junior Supercross Challenge at this year’s event.
“We’re really proud to be able to give this life changing opportunity to the young boys and girls who will be the future of our sport and are very grateful, for the support of KTM Australia, to make it happen. I wouldn’t be surprised if these young legends get the loudest reception of the weekend!” Bailey said.
The lucky 20 riders will also receive a complete KTM PowerWear kids Pounce riding outfit including pants, jersey and gloves, as well the chance to ride a 2017 KTM 50 SX, equipped with KTM PowerParts prepared by KTM factory mechanics.
Participants will also complete the full competition experience, including a full track walk, two practice sessions and an exhibition race throughout the day.
KTM Motorsport Marketing Manager Kyle Blunden said KTM are extremely passionate about racing and are renowned worldwide for the Ready To Race capabilities of their machines and professional racing teams.
“KTM Junior Supercross Challenge (KJSC) is something that has been developed in the AMA Supercross for numerous years and has seen a number of professional riders come through this program. Ryan Dungey is one of the many that credit KJSC for his introduction to top level Supercross racing and the experience that gave him as a young racer.
Our aim is to be able to provide that same experience for young riders here in Australia giving them the full factory treatment for the day. The AUS-X Open gives us the perfect opportunity to achieve this with the awesome track and packed out venue, what better place is there for an aspiring young Supercross racer than at the biggest Supercross event in Australia on a KTM 50 SX?” Blunden said.
Participants will also receive two complimentary passes for the relevant day of competition to watch the entire show, KTM truck tour and VIP signing opportunity, KTM gift pack, and KJSC Participation certificate.
Trophies will be awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place getters on both nights of the competition.
