Grant has opted for surgery to resolve a long-term ankle injury.

Josh Grant is expected to miss the remainder of the 2016 season as he aims to correct the niggly injury.
“The decision to have both ankles operated on at the same time was a tough one,” said Grant. “I’ve been battling this injury for a few years and I want to get it fixed now so that I am ready for the 2017 season. I want to thank the Monster Energy Kawasaki team for the opportunity to race this year.”
Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Tyler Bowers will step up to the premier class in place of Grant and the injured Wil Hahn.
“I’m really happy to have the opportunity to race the outdoors,” said Bowers. “To be able to do it on the Monster Energy Kawasaki factory KX™450F is a dream come true. Redbud is my favourite track and I’m looking forward to taking full advantage of the opportunity in front of me.”
