Reigning SX2 Australian Supercross Champion Gavin Faith will return to the competition in the premier SX1 Class. This will be Faith’s fifth visit to the Australian Supercross in as many years having also secured the title in 2012.
The transition into the premier class will provide for a greater challenge to Faith who will now line-up against the likes of Australian champion Matt Moss from Team Motul Suzuki.
“I am really looking forward to coming back to Australia,” said Faith. “I love the country and am excited that the Australian Supercross Championship is growing. I was super-pumped to win the SX2 Australian championship last year and will be going all-out for another championship this year.”
20-year old Anthony Rodriguez will also join Faith in the SX1 class. Rodriguez is a multiple time national champion in Venezuela who now bases himself in the USA. Riding with Star Racing Yamaha, Rodriguez managed to finish in sixth place overall at this year’s AMA Eastern Regional 250 Supercross.
The addition of these two riders adds to the already impressive international line-up with American James Stewart and home grown, American based, Chad Reed confirmed for Sydney’s AUS-X Open.
