Beta Motorcycles Australia Hard Enduro rider, Ruben Chadwick attended round one of the Australian Hard Enduro Championship (AHEC) on the weekend in Towong Upper, VIC. Named the Kosciuszko Killer for a reason, it’s considered one of the toughest rounds on the calendar.
The 2023 AHEC season sees a new race format consisting of a one hour Special Test on Day 1 and a Cross Country format for Day 2 (main race), with both events awarding points towards the championship.
Competing on his MY23 Beta RR 300 Racing, Ruben came away in second place on Saturday’s one hour Special Test, just two seconds behind the race leader.
Race day saw great weather and track conditions and with a great start and a strong performance throughout the race, Ruben took out first place to win round one of the AHEC.
“The bike felt great with plenty of grip and the track was in great condition. Following some good battles on Saturday, I finished in second place allowing me a good starting position for race day. With a good start on Sunday, I was able to make a pass for first place on the first Gold section (Fig Tree Hill) and kept going strong through to the finish line. It was great to walk away with the win and I’m looking forward to the next race.” – Ruben Chadwick
Ruben returns to the track for rounds three and four of the AORC on 22/23 April at Queensland Moto Park, QLD.
