Dean Ferris’ return to the 2019 Pirelli MX Nationals has hit a hurdle. The three-time Australian Motocross Champion has suffered a broken thumb. His 2019 season has been chaotic, recently returning from the USA after being unable to come to an agreement with Monster Energy Factory Yamaha Racing to continue for the rest of the AMA Motocross season. Ferris was sitting inside the top-10 after filling in for the injured Aaron Plessinger.
Dean posted the following statement on his Instagram account. “Dammit – Busted thumb. Was so keen to race the MX Nationals on my Recover8 Raceline KTM. It’s been a hectic year, this will slow me down for a few weeks and allow me to relax and hit the RESET button. I’ll be chugging down loads of Recover8 to heal this baby up.”
Although Dean is yet to lock-in his plans for the next season, we expect to see the #111 back racing the MX Nationals in Australia in 2020.
