Aussie Jed Beaton has impressed at the opening FIM MX2 World Championship round in Argentina. Beaton and his K&H Racing Kawasaki ended the weekend fifth overall.
In the first moto, Beaton managed to get a good start in the top ten. The Kawasaki rider managed to move up to seventh position after three laps which was good progress but then he lost a position due to a small mistake. Halfway through the race, the Australian came back to seventh place which he managed to hold until the finish – a good first moto of the season.
When the gate dropped for the second moto, Beaton was just outside the top ten but quickly worked his way into the top ten. Beaton was in a battle with the two young guns of Jorge Prado and Jago Geerts, Beaton did get the better of the Belgian but had to settle for eighth.
“It was quite a good weekend for myself. It didn’t really get off to the best of starts but it improved throughout the whole weekend so I’m happy about that. I look forward to the GP of Valkenswaard were I can hopefully better my results again. I definitely need to work on my starts and hopefully I can improve on my weekend there.” – Jed Beaton
