A thick pool of talent expands from the Australian shores and with most of them returning home, there are a few key names that everyone should watch out for as the 2016 Yamaha Australian Four Days Enduro (A4DE) grows closer, starting this Monday the 14th of November.
Press Release
With plenty of overseas continents to cover, the Enduro riders have made their way around the world, this year alone collecting individual and team World Championships before they returned home this November ready to gear up for a tightly contested A4DE.
Motorcycling Australia ambassador Daniel Milner:
There is not denying that all eyes will be on Daniel Milner next week as the 25-year-old puts his helmet on, ready to commence four days of challenging terrain in the hope to claim his fifth Yamaha A4DE outright title in consecutive years.
After his journey started this year in the USA, his name looked to have been written in the history books, however a broken leg abruptly haltered that ambition. But, Milner is back and is fighting strong ready to defend his winning streak.
We suggest that with Milner faced with some tough and fastly improving competition, he will have to be on his A game next week, but is something that he will definitely bring to the table in fighting style.
2016 Yamaha Australian Off-Road Outright Champion Daniel Sanders:
A ball of ‘fire’ and ‘ambition’ describes Daniel “Chucky” Sanders in only two words, as this 2016 newly crowned AORC Champion sets his sights on an A4DE title.
After coming off a very impressive International Six Days Enduro performance where Chucky secured himself an E3 World Championship, and with his eyes firmly set on contesting in Europe next year backed by his KTM support, Sanders will have a lot to prove across the four days.
Although the Enduro community boasts friendship off the track as soon as the googles are placed upon their nose and the engines starts there is no stopping the battles, and bar banging action that is going to play out with so much at stake.
World Enduro GP Champion Matthew Phillips:
Amongst one of the greatest personal achievements, Phillips will still be on a confident steak after an amazing World Enduro GP Championship win earlier this year. Returning home after a season in Europe Phillips confirmed his A4DE ride, contesting his fellow Australians.
Sherco mounted Phillips will be tested by the Australian terrain these four days, after being in Europe for the past four years (and counting) Although there are some things to adjust too, Phillips is sure to put on a performance and will be a hard rider to beat.
Not only will Phillips be competing at the four day, he will no doubt be greeting fans and signing autographs for plenty of up and coming young Enduro riders.
Active8 Yamaha Yamalube’s Josh Green:
This week will see Josh Green have his second outing on his Yamaha machine after injury in the first round of the AORC this season cut his championship chase short. With the recovery going well and given the O.K. from his doc’s, Green will be back competing amongst his Yamaha team mates.
Green has always been a fierce competitor and now even more hungry to prove himself after an injury riddled year, he is going to battle it out against these names and more for a title.
Green has expressed that this season hasn’t gone the way he planned but after some time off the bike he is ready to hit the ground running, and get himself prepped and ready for a strong 2017 season.
2016 Yamaha Australia Off-Road Championship E1 Champion Jack Simpson:
Jack Simpson is the newest name to the Enduro scene, but having already proved himself this year claiming an E1 Championship at the AORC in his rookie year Simpson has people watching.
Simpson has had one year to adapt to vastly different riding conditions, and with one ISDE already under his belt only a few short weeks ago, he is set to shine again. Even if he holds on to the title by mere seconds over the first three days, he is sure to make it a fight with the final Moto playing to his strengths.
If Simpson can get his head around the A4DE this year he’ll well and truly lose his Motocross title, and be a force to battle next year. A true Enduro rider.
For all competitors, Wednesday the 16th of November will see the commencement of the 2016 Yamaha Australian Four Days Enduro straight after a day of prologue in Merrijig near Mansfield in rural Victoria.
