The Australian ace has picked up a suspected broken ankle on the very first day of competition.

Australia’s hopes of defending their world title have taken a huge hit with World Trophy Team member Josh Strang crashing out on the first special test. It is extremely unlikely that Strang will be able to continue with a suspected broken ankle
All four riders points are counted every day towards the title and Team Australia have now been cut to three. The FIM ISDE rulebook states all riders must finish each day and in the event of a retirement a three-hour penalty is attached to each day of competition remaining.
Strang shared his extreme disappointment on social media this morning.
“Injuries happen, I can deal with that. But today I let the team down and I’m devastated..
My ISDE is over already. Sorry to my team mates and all the Aussie supporters that are here working their ass off!”
