The team have released a statement and video ending speculation that Canard will jump ship at season’s end.

Canard has dedicated his entire professional career to the Honda team claiming the 2008 Monster Energy Supercross Eastern Regional 250SX title in his debut season. Two years later Canard captured the 250 Lucas Oil Motocross title and has remained a top threat ever since.
All good things must come to an end, and after ten years with team red, Canard will move across to Red Bull KTM for season 2017.
The following statement was released by Team Honda HRC to thank Canard and wish him all the best with future endeavours.
“American Honda Motor Corp., Inc. extends its sincere appreciation to Trey Canard, who has dedicated his entire professional career thus far to the Honda bran. Through high points and challenging periods, Canard’s commitment to racing and his fans has never wavered.
“It has been a pleasure having him and mechanic, Brent Presnell, in the Honda family for the past 10 years. Everyone at Honda wishes them all the best in their future endeavours.”
