The 2017 Motocross of Nations will head to Southern California, confirming recent speculation that the United States would once again play host. The last time MXoN was held in the US was 2010 at Thunder Valley, Colorado.
Giuseppe Luongo, President of Youthstream announced the decision and his confidence in the Californian track.
“For many years Glen Helen has been a devoted partner,” Luongo said, “and I am delighted to be able to continue this strong partnership, it’s a real pleasure working together with Bud Feldkamp and his staff. USA is an important country for Motocross and it’s fabulous to be returning to Glen Helen with the best Motocross event of the year, the American fans are fantastic and deserve to have this unique event in their country and to be able to support their powerful US Team”
President of Glen Helen Raceway, Bud Feldkamp is extremely excited to have an event of this calibre take place in his own backyard.
“Myself and the entire Glen Helen staff are extremely excited to host the 2017 Monster Energy Motocross of Nations,” he said. “The opportunity to welcome the world of motocross to our back yard in Southern California, for the first time in its 70 year history, is something that we do not take lightly at Glen Helen. Thank you to the FIM, AMA, and particularly Youthstream for giving us this honour. I look forward to doing everything in my power to make this a truly historic motocross event for all the teams and fans from around the world.”
The 2017 MXoN is scheduled for October 1st, next year.
