The respective riders accepted their awards from the American Motorcyclist Association.

The Rookie of the Year award is handed to the rookie rider in each class who has earned the most points for the season.
Red Bull KTM’s Marvin Musquin was the standout rookie rider in the 450SX class finishing seventh overall including five podiums.
Troy Lee Designs Red Bull KTM’s Alex Frye scored 14th in the 250SX East division to win his respective award. Frye qualified for all main events bar the Las Vegas finale where he crashed in the heat race and could not finish.
“Marvin and Alexander made the most of their rookie seasons by displaying that they have the speed, agility and desire to rise to the top of the ranks amongst a tough field of competitors,” said AMA Supercross Director Kevin Crowther. “We congratulate them for their exceptional performance in 2016. Their persistence and desire to work hard will certainly lead them to excel in AMA Supercross.”
