Last week we saw Cooper Webb barely hang on for the 250SX West Regional Championship after a broken wrist gave him obvious grief. Many had expected a lengthy layoff period in order for correct rehab.
In a surprising post, Webb shared the following on instagram; ““5 more days until gate drop. Ready to see what I can do this summer.”
It would be a bold decision to race with an injury that is obviously not right and the prospect of a long 24 moto season.
A similar decision was made by Webb last year when he entered the outdoors series with an injured ankle. The opening round saw him reinjure the ankle forcing him out of the next four rounds before returning to claim three motos and land on the podium a further five times.
A break of the navicular normally involves a few weeks off the bike so it will be interesting to see how Webb fares come gate drop this weekend.
