The Aussie legend will contest two rounds of this year’s MXGP series as part of his deal at Yamaha.

The 34 year old has not been a part of the MXGP circuit for 17 years where in 1999 he claimed second overall in the 250 World Championship aboard a Kawasaki. Following his early success he immediately transferred to America where we have seen him race ever since.
Reed has penned the British Grand Prix at Matterley Basin on June 18-19 and the Grand Prix of Lombardia, June 25-26 as his two guest appearances.
“I have always valued my one and only year in Europe and I`m so excited to come back after all these years,” he said. “I briefly mentioned it on social media and many UK and European fans have shown lots of enthusiasm so that in return makes it a ton of fun for me.”
Reed will have to forgo his trademark number 22 for the events however with Kevin Strijbos already boasting the number. The Aussie will count on the backing of Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing to keep him in good stead as he gets set to face some extremely stiff competition including Romain Febvre, Tim Gasjer, Evgeny Bobryshev and Ben Townley.
